Capsule, tablet and softgel supplements, from formula to delivery

We develop capsule, tablet, chewable and softgel products and manage their manufacture through cGMP partners matched to the format, the volume and the margin, from the first formula to delivery at your warehouse.

Capsule, tablet or softgel?

The format follows the formula, the dose and the customer, and sometimes the production line decides. A capsule isn't always a medicine, either: its pathway turns mostly on how it is presented, starting with its claims (medicine, food or cosmetic?). From our records:

  • A wet blend won't encapsulate. An eye-health formula kept failing in encapsulation because the ingredient mix was too wet; hand-filling would have added one to two months. We moved it to a direct-compression tablet mid-project.
  • Oils go in softgels. Fish oil, krill oil and algal omega-3 are built as softgel capsules.
  • Taste decides chewables. B vitamins and selenium are bitter and smell strongly; a two-a-day prenatal chewable uses coated B vitamins to tame the taste.
  • Ingredient count sets the size. We have built capsules from a single ingredient to complex herbal blends of 13 or more.

Capsules

From a single-ingredient formula to complex herbal blends of 13 or more ingredients. Examples:

  • EverLeanBody: a four-ingredient capsule built around affron®, a clinically studied saffron extract, with L-theanine, lemon balm and active-form B vitamins. 5.8 months from signed brief to dispatch.
  • A complex herbal capsule built around KSM-66® ashwagandha, with an evidence package covering more than 13 ingredients: design to production order in 32 days.
  • Vitable: a TGA-listed capsule with more than 13 ingredients, in a 100% recycled PET bottle.

Tablets and chewables

Direct-compression tablets and two-a-day chewables. Examples:

  • Your Skin Scan: a single-ingredient 500 mg nicotinamide tablet, 120 per bottle, as a TGA-listed medicine.
  • BWellness: a 60-tablet formula built on EnXtra®, with five production batches from 2021 to 2025.
  • An Arxi prenatal moved from a liquid drop to a two-a-day chewable, now in production.

Softgels

Fish oil, krill oil and algal omega-3, taken from formula and stability through to reorder: a fish oil and a krill oil capsule for an established natural health company (the fish oil since reordered), and an algal omega-3 capsule built on life's™OMEGA with VitaShine™ vegan vitamin D3 for BWellness.

Packs and stability

Packs we have delivered include 60-count bottles, 120-count bottles, 100% recycled PET bottles and 7-day trial packs for sampling. See packaging and labelling. A stability program supports the shelf life on the label: 24-month programs on recent capsules, and a protocol designed to support a three-year expiry on an eye-health tablet. What the TGA expects is in our stability testing guide.
