Supplement product development for Brisbane brands
In short
- Where we are: 37/42-46 Wattle Road, Brookvale NSW 2100. We work with brands across Australia and New Zealand, and the first step is a 15-minute call.
- What we do: one team for the whole job: the brief, the formula, the evidence for every claim, the listing, the label, the packaging, and the manufacture and delivery to your warehouse or 3PL in Queensland.
- National rules: a TGA-listed medicine is listed, labelled and advertised under the same Commonwealth rules wherever the brand is based.
- Queensland rules: if your product is a food rather than a medicine, most food businesses in Queensland need a licence from their local council under the Food Act 2006, including one that manufactures food.
- Track record: 190 projects since 2020; 32 days from design to production order on a complex herbal capsule; 5.8 months from signed brief to dispatch for EverLeanBody.
Working with us from Brisbane
Product development is mostly decisions, documents and samples, so it runs the same way whether a brand is in Brisbane or on the Northern Beaches:
- A 15-minute call to see whether the product and the timing fit. Then a brief.
- The five steps of the Launch Engine™, run side by side: discover, design, de-risk, deliver and drive (the Launch Engine).
- Samples and proofs for your sign-off: formula samples, label proofs and packaging.
- Manufacture through audited cGMP partners matched to your format, volume and margin, then release testing, imports where needed and freight to your warehouse or 3PL (managed manufacturing).
Development stages are fixed fees for a defined outcome, and manufacturing is priced per unit.
What's national, and what's Queensland's
National. Most supplements in our records are TGA-listed medicines. The Therapeutic Goods Act is Commonwealth law: the listing on the ARTG, the permitted ingredients and indications, the label under TGO 116 and the Advertising Code are the same for a Brisbane brand as for a Sydney one (TGA approval). The company that lists the medicine is its sponsor: an Australian resident, or a company incorporated and doing business in Australia (the TGA sponsor).
Queensland. A supplement sold as a food, such as many sports and protein powders, is covered by the Food Standards Code, which the states, territories and local councils enforce (the food pathway). In Queensland, the Food Act 2006 means most food businesses need a licence from their local council, including a business that "manufactures food (making food by combining ingredients)". Primary producers such as dairy and meat businesses are accredited by Safe Food Production Queensland instead. Licensed or not, a food business must comply with all food safety legislation. Your council confirms what your business needs.
